Kansas City is About to Be a Surf Town

Yup – a surf town. North Kansas City is getting a brand new FlowRider® surf machine in the middle of a new $200M development that is just now entering it’s initial build phase. At the moment, to reach the nearest FlowRider, locals have to drive to either Nebraska or Illinois to experience the thrill of surfing…in the Midwest, that is. No ocean? No problem. Freezing winters? No problem. These attractions can be installed indoors giving communities a cool, new gathering place.

The FlowRider Double, FlowRider, Inc.’s most popular and profitable ride, will be smack dab in the middle of it’s own stand alone venue thus creating a cool, new gathering place in NKC! The plan is to have a Southern California-style, world class restaurant situated all around the the FlowRider.

Anyone that has been to a FlowRider venue, whether it be at a waterpark, a hotel or a community center, knows that A) riding the FlowRider is a blast and actually addicting and B) that just watching excellent (or not so excellent) riders on the ride is a total blast too. The key to most people’s hearts is through food, right? Mix excellent food, friends and family and the healthy, up-and-coming board sport of flowboarding together and voilà – Flow House Kansas City is born!

Other parts of the mixed-use space will include apartments, hotels, various restaurants and specialty shops. There will also be other experiential elements to compliment the new Flow House, specifically Driv Golf Lounge and Brewhouse. Driv is similar to Topgolf in that patrons can hang out in one of their many driving range bays, hit golf balls, drink, eat, watch sports on TV all simultaneously!

Since this 58-acre piece of city-owned land has sat mostly unused for YEARS, we think things are looking up for the people of North Kansas City and their visitors.  We can’t wait, so rest assured that we will keep you posted as the ball aggressively rolls towards an action-packed Grand Opening of Flow House Kansas City (sometime in 2018, by the way)!

See Ya On The Wave!
