Why Do People Slide into the Back Wall?

The main reason someone hits the back wall is they simply fell while riding and the water flow took them up the wave. Another common reason after observing lifeguard/ wave operator’s teams throughout the world, is beginner riders and small children are using body boards that are too big or using incorrect techniques. It is important that children just above the height requirement use 32-inch bodyboards or smaller, and use the technique taught by FlowRider specialist to have their elbows on the board, chest up, bottom of the board at their belly, and use their legs for drag. The acronym “BED,” can be found in the Operations and Procedures Manual.
