Back in June 2008, an Italian development company called Coopsette set out to open a first of its kind wellness center in Alessandria, Italy. The site was surrounded by mostly industrial centers, so not necessarily an established footfall hub. However the town was (and is still is) a large railway hub in the country. When the project was completed, they had a 16,000 square meter luxurious water park dedicated to relaxation and fun. There were tropical lounging pools, slides, a wellness/spa area, a huge gym, and a FlowRider® Double.
Adjacent to all of this was a four-star hotel and a multiplex cinema. It was called Il Bellavita – Parco del Benessere. The FlowRider in Alessandria was actaully Italy’s 2nd sheet wave. In fact the first one was installed about 1,100km from Alessandria in Vibo Valentina at venue called Aquapark Zambrone. The draw to this new wave though was strong and Bellavita became very popular very fast.
This beautiful and vibrant venue operated under Coopsette until bankruptcy stuck in December of 2015. Overall operating and management costs became too much. Fast forward to 2019 and Bellavita is BACK! The FlowRider underwent some cosmetic upgrades and was ready to be the centerpiece again. COVID-19 of course caused a bit of a hiccup in operation recently, but since July of 2020, the crew at Bellavita has safely been operating the venue and the wave.
There are more images on the way, but check out the latest video they shared with us!
