The people of Fort Smith, Arkansas no longer have to trek to the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic to experience the thrill of surfing.  Their beloved waterpark, Parrot Island, now has a FlowRider® Double and it has already been put to GREAT use!

On DAY ONE of the FlowRider being open to the public at Parrot Island, the owners/staff hosted an amazing, fundraising event. The region recently experienced flash floods, so victims of the flood were the beneficiaries. The format of the event was such that for every second the participant stayed standing on the wave, $1 was pledged to the recent local flood victims (by way of United Way of Fort Smith). How cool is that?!?! Several local dignitaries showed up to participate…and…well…to wipe out too. Per usual, the flowboarders that day sure looked like they had a great time doing it though.

This new FlowRider is the region’s only one! The other attractions at the waterpark are a wave pool, four awesome twisting turning water slides, a relaxing lazy river, an activity pool and a themed children’s aquatic play area. There are party pavilions, cabana rentals, food and beverage concessions, 800 complimentary deck and lounge chairs, over 250 complimentary water tubes, expansive grass lawns for relaxing and much more, and is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Welcome to the Flow Family, Parrot Island Waterpark!
