A legend at Sea – RCCL takes a Quantum leap with FlowRider

Since Royal Caribbean International set seas with the Oasis-class and Allure of the Seas cruise ships, featuring the FlowRider® wave simulator and other luxurious amenities, the leader in its industry has created an ocean voyage experience that no other competitor can match.

Royal Caribbean and FlowRider continue to raise the bar by delivering WOW products to its customers.  The FlowRider Double attraction will be highlighted on the newest class of ships, Quantum of the Seas, making that the 9th FlowRider installed on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ships.

Holding a capacity of 4,000 plus people and extending over a thousand feet in deck surface, Royal Caribbean President and CEO Adam Goldstein was quoted saying “The new ship will be such a leap forward in terms of vessel design and guest experiences that we thought the name Quantum of the Seas was perfectly appropriate,” (Gadling.com).

Royal Caribbean has made a quantum leap forward in the industry and will be featuring innovative technology, amenities and endless activities, including our most popular FlowRider, the FlowRider Double.  The newest cruise class will allow customers to experience the open seas like never before. With newly designed rooms, dynamic dining and transformative venues, Quantum is ready to WOW the deep blue sea.

As the Quantum class prepares to set sail in November, FlowRider employee and flowboarding legend Sean Silveira (5x World Champion) went aboard to put the final touches on the ride and train the sport staff on the wave.  “It was fun training with the sport staff; they are a great group of individuals who were stoked on riding,” Silveira mentioned.

FlowRider and Royal Caribbean have a strong relationship; both parties look to uphold their outstanding reputations. “Customer Intimacy is is not just two words – it is a mindset throughout our organization and one concept that we live day in and day out” explained FlowRider COO Marshall Myrman. “We want to create the best experience for not only our customers, but also our clients customers, and everyone else associated with our value chain” added Myrman. Having Sean onboard the ship provided a great opportunity for their staff to get excellent hands on training and catch a glimpse of world class riding. It is important for the attraction staff to be knowledgeable and experience the thrill of the wave, so they can better relay the experience to guests.

Quantum of the Seas will set sail from Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey, United States, during its inaugural 2014-2015 season before shifting to China in May 2015. In addition, the 2015 season will also include routes from Shanghai to Japan and Korea, year round.
