The Association of Aquatic Professionals invade the FlowRider® at Wave House San Diego

On March 9th, under clear skies and a beautiful spring evening at Wave House San Diego (WHSD), the Association of Aquatics Professionals (AOAP) invaded for an evening of suds and fun at WHSD.  It was an opportunity for these professionals to escape their home states for some fun in beautiful San Diego, and the pros on the FlowRider were there to assist.

With FlowRider Sport Manager Adam Muller leading the charge, we were able to convince dozens of future flowboarding enthusiasts to sign up and ride, many without the comfort of a wetsuit!!  It was a game crew and the spectators were there in full force to cheer them on.  Adam was stoked on the event and commented “We had a great crew on the wave and an enthusiastic group of spectators. The majority of the participants picked it up faster than I did when I first started riding.”

The first hour was spent with FlowRider expert riders (and employees) showing their skills.  This included Adam, Josh Ornelaz and 11 yr old team rider  Tony Miranda, along with multiple X world champion Sean Silveira showing their skill, along with showing that anyone of any age can ride.

The second hour was a free for all as the aquatics professionals signed up to test their balance and experience the thrill of riding a wave.  It was part of the special event ending the conference at the Town and Country Convention Center, and these guys really nailed it.  As Mark Basnight (organizer of the event and Regional Sales Manager for Lincoln Aquatics) said “even life guarding professionals whom work and live around the water can’t get enough of the biggest attractions in the aquatic industry. If you want to increase attendance at your facilities and bring in additional revenues, the FlowRider is a sure thing!  A great way to end a great conference!!”
