2017: A Year in Review

We are calling 2017 the year of momentum.  It’s been rolling all year long and we are rolling with it!

The momentum with our Stand Alone venues continues to gain strength with Surf House Punta Cana having just opened along with Flow House Bali and FlowRider 1Utama in Malaysia.  There are high profile municipalities strutting their FlowRider® stuff all over the world too; prime example is Tobruk Memorial Pool is Cairns, Australia.  Epic Waters in Grand Prairie, Texas is on the cusp of its grand opening event.  There is a strong rider base in that part of the country and with this new FlowRider in town, it’s only going to become more epic – get it?!

Our amazing customer, Royal Caribbean International, continues to crank out beautiful new cruise ships, with the next on the Oasis Class, Symphony of the Seas™, ready to be commissioned this coming Spring.  Mariner of the Seas™ is getting a full refurbishment in dry dock and guess what??!!  Part of the spruce up effort is a brand new FlowRider Double!

Hotels and Resorts are gaining speed as well – Westin, Marriott, and Barcelo Resorts are all claiming FlowRider fame.  No part of the FlowRider globe remains untouched!  In fact, one of the newest Reebok Sport Clubs is in Armenia and is now home to WaveOz™ #2 where the President of Armenia took part in the commissioning and grand opening.  WaveOz #3 is under construction at the La Mer Waterpark in Dubai.

With 24 projects underway in 15 countries, 2018’s trajectory is heading straight towards Planet Fantastic.  Look for our newly minted www.flowrider.com coming in the next couple of months, and new versions of our e-retail site (www.flowridershop.com) and social media site (www.flowboarders.com).  The FLOW Tour in 2017 spanned the globe for over 30 events, culminating with our World Championship competition at Aquaworld in Cancun.  Everyone had a great time (so I heard), and Sean Silveira won the world title for the 6th time – welcome back to the podium, Sean!

Not even multiple hurricanes can dim the FlowRider shine, as our attraction in Turks and Caicos survived its’ 2nd category 5, and multiple FlowRiders in Florida survived a horrific season.  Our best wishes go out to those locations/countries impacted by those deadly storms.

And last but certainly not least, we added a few new names, and a couple of old ones as well, to the FlowRider team roster – Eliza and Steven, welcome aboard, and to Zak and Terry, welcome back, it’s like you never left.

Our awesome team going into 2018 is poised with only one thing in mind – to provide the best service you have ever received regardless of industry!  We want to keep bringing the best, safest, and most innovative products to this wonderful industry.  Others like to claim it, we just do it.  Ah, what the heck, I’ll give it a “mini claim” for a close to 2017!  Kind of like a quiet fist clench when exiting a 10 ft barrel.  Let’s all act like we have been there before, which, enough of this….time to go for a surf!

Happy Holidays!

Marsh and the FlowRider Team!!
