Along with our North American licensee, Aquatic Development Group, we are happy to welcome yet another member to the Flow Family. This excited, new team is at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center 12 miles outside of Nashville, Tennessee – the park is called SoundWaves. They had just over 110,000 sq ft and $90 Million with which to work, so why not build a world class, music-themed waterpark?! Along with their FlowRider® Double they have installed a rapid and a lazy river, five waterslides, a FlowRider® Double, an activity pool with rock climbing and more! This is just Phase 1!
This enormous resort has 2,888 rooms making it one of the 30 largest hotels in the world and in fact is the largest non-casino hotel in the United States. Aside from the waterpark, guests can enjoy amenities like an exercise room, a spa, the 19 restaurants and bars, as well as an indoor pool, 2 outdoor pools, and 9 acres of indoor gardens. There’s also an 18-hole golf course and over 750,000 sq ft of event space, including 6 ballrooms.
“The whole vibe at this park is different than most parks and I’ve been to a lot of waterparks! I think it’s the music theme, it’s obviously so fitting for the area and just gives the place a whole different type of energy,” says Adam Muller, FlowRider Retail Manager. Muller was onsite back in October to get the staff trained and ready for the grand opening. There were 8 members there they had a blast. “It’s always the best feeling when I leave a training and everybody in the group has progressed and are now helping each other,” Muller adds.
The property is in a prime location being that it is only 9 miles from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, a 10-minute walk from the Grand Ole Opry and 8 miles from Nashville International Airport. The FlowRider Double on this property will undoubtedly get a lot of use and will help the property gain many loyal guests for years to come.
Welcome to the Flow Family, SoundWave!
