New Hybrid Surface for Freedom of the Seas®

Royal Caribbean and FlowRider, Inc. have come full circle together with Freedom of the Seas®. In 2006 this vessel was the first of Royal Caribbean’s fleet to have a FlowRider® Double and now after an “amplification” of the entire ship, it’s the first to have FlowRider’s new hybrid ride surface. The hybrid surface is a combination of our patented tensioned ride surface and our inflatable technology.

The FlowRider team is constantly brainstorming, researching, developing, discussing, experimenting & tinkering with different ways to make riding a FlowRider as fun and safe as possible. The joining of two types of current ride surface technologies came up in conversation mid-2019, it felt right and we knew we had to act on it as soon as possible. The result is the softest, most giving ride surface for anyone that wipes out on a FlowRider – which, let’s be honest, is everyone.
