There are already close to 20 FlowRider surf simulators in China, but a brand new one just made its debut! It’s in Shijiazhuang, the capital and largest city of North China’s Hebei Province.
It’s the only waterpark of its kind in the area and with an average temperature of 85° six months out of the year, the decision to develop a park here feels very right! The whole setting looks similar to that of a Universal theme park with colorful store front facades, random shortcut alleys and pedestrian-only streets. Heavily sprinkled around are other thrilling WhiteWater West attractions – a full waterslide complex, an AquaPlay unit for their younger guests, and a huge wave pool.
It used to be that the best and biggest flowboarder base was in the United States. The rider base is growing rapidly all over Asia these days though. In fact one of the newest Flow Family members, 1 Utama in Selangor, Malaysia, is hosting the 2018 Asia Flowboarding World Championships Qualifying event in in a couple weeks! Perhaps locals and tourist alike will see the FLOW Tour come through Shijiazhuang in 2019! Stay posted; we’ll let you know!
