FlowRider Team USA Announced- Wright, Sanchez & Nash

Team USA ready to shred the FlowRider at World Championships

The FlowRider® World Flowboarding Championships (WFC) is right around the corner. After the completion of each FLOW Tour season, qualified individuals will represent their countries and go head to head on the FlowRider for the bragging rights of being a World Champion.

The FLOW Tour spreads across the globe with circuits in North America, Asia and Europe as the top riders in the region battle it out on the wave for a chance to be National Champion and earn a spot in the WFC event.

This year the North American Flow Tour invaded FlowRider venues all around the country and after eleven events, the Tour Champions were crowned. Seasoned veterans Chuck Wright, Nick Sanchez and Xana Nash earned top honors and will be representing Team USA at Yas Waterworld in Abu Dhabi come November 6-8th.

Over the years, top names like Sean Silveira, Nick Nguyen and Brad Spencer had dominated the Pro Divisions, however, as the sport continues to grow, the talent and rider base does the same. FLOW Events & Sport Marketing Coordinator Adam Muller stated, “It is great to see young riders stepping up their game and pushing the level of competition, you never know who will win!”

“Dreams really do come true!” Sanchez explains. “I am honored to represent the North American FLOW Tour. I never thought that the sport of flowboarding would take me this far” he added. Sanchez (17) won the 2014 FLOW Tour in the Pro Bodyboard division. “Nick has come a long way since he first started riding; we have been competing against each other for a few years” mentioned Nick Nguyen (5x National Champion and 2013 World Champion). Sanchez is ready to make a name for himself in the sport he loves.Xana Nash, defended her women’s flowboard title and will look to three-peat at the World Championship level. “I just love riding; it also has given me lots of opportunity to travel and meet new people” said Nash.

Chuck Wright, currently enrolled as a senior at the University of Central Florida, was this year’s Pro Flowboard division winner. It has always been a battle for riders to knock off Sean Silveira (5x National and World Champion) from the top, but the opportunity presented itself and Wright made the most of it. “Hard work is paying off” Chuck stated. “It’s a great feeling for it all to come together and be awarded with a trip of a life time to compete at the highest level” Wright added.
